Maintenance Fund Beneficiaries: Persons holding a maintenance and unexecuted ruling. Types of maintenance include: wife, children, parents, guardianship, housing, education, housing, and relatives with disabilities. Persons with a maintenance ruling can benefit from the PMF regardless of their residence be it in Gaza, West Bank, East Jerusalem and those living abroad.
Required Documents in order to pursue and execute maintenance rulings:
The approval of the application is contingent upon receipt of the following documents:
- Official document of maintenance ruling;
- Letter from the Legal Enactment Department attesting to the fact that enforcement of the maintenance ruling was not possible after all required legal procedures were exhausted;
- In the case the person required to pay maintenance is residing in an area other than that of the Court issuing the ruling, a certificate should be obtained from the Legal Enactment department in the second area, which should indicate that the maintenance ruling has not been executed in the first jurisdiction; and
- Legally endorsed guarantee by a person with financial capability.
Payment criterion: The disbursement of due amount by the PMF begins 15 days after the application is submitted and approved where the amount in the ruling is transferred to the applicant’s bank account.

The majority of PMF beneficiaries in 2017, 2018, and 2019 reside in the Center region (Ramallah-Al-Bireh, Jerusalem, Salfit and Jericho governorates) of the West Bank; followed by the Northern region (Nablus, Tubas, Qalqilya, Jenin, and Tulkarem); and then the Southern region (Hebron and Bethlehem).

In 2019, the PMF responded to 5,469 telephone calls from beneficiaries. The calls mainly revolved around the expected date for transfer of the alimony/maintenance, obtaining legal advice and the provision of new and/or updated information regarding the case. However, a significant amount of calls were for legal advice and criteria for benefitting from the PMF services.
